I think what makes it more impactful is the fact of knowing Lucille was played by Jeffrey's real life wife. So for me, this is just acting for the sake of the story. This is how I believe Jeffrey would've reacted in this exact same situation if it ever happened.

Now in the comics, Negan did cheat on Lucille. But she was just a random mistress, so to have it being Lucille's best friend for the show? That makes in 10x's more painful.
